Welcome to the ANGLOPHONE ASSOCIATION OF COUTANCES (est.1993)
About Us
We are a group of around 100 English-speaking people from seven different countries who enjoy getting together to savour the charms of the ‘Manche-Centre’ region in Normandy and to learn more about its history, culture, food and way of life.
We organise regular social events, visits to places of interest and gardens in addition to sessions for those who want to improve their French/English (we have many French members). We also have a book club, dance and walking groups.
Every year, the association supports a charity and donates all surplus profits that were unintentionally generated from our organised events. The charity is chosen by our members from a shortlist of organisations they have proposed. The charity selected for the period 2026–2027 is “Le Secour Populaire, Coutances” (https://www.secourspopulaire.fr/50-coutances). This independent non-governmental organisation received the most votes at our Annual General Meeting on 30 October 2026.
